Berufsverbot

The Berufsverbot originated in to be a special kind of punishment for persons who misused their profession for criminal purposes. For example a butcher can be enjoined to sell meat, if his products endanger the health of people.

During the 1970s the word "Berufsverbot" got a second interpretation and became popular because of the so called Radikalenerlass (decree against radicals). The members of communistic and communistic - friendly organizations should be prevented to get a job in public utilities.

Retrospectively the Berufsverbot has demaged the respect of the Federal Republic of Germany, because the way it was practised was really overestimated.

In connection with rightest and Neo - Nazis the term "Berufsverbot" was never used indeed.
